An Excerpt From My Next Book: WHEN THE DEAD CAME 2

Since I'm halfway finished with the second book of the series, I'm going to share a few paragraphs from the next book for your reading/viewing and what to look forward to in the next book:

Trevor raised the next star in an attempt to help his group’s leader, when he got a sudden stabbing pain in his left forearm, causing him to tighten his grip on the ninja stars that began to cut into his fingers and palm, blood beginning to trickle. He looked at his forearm and saw the knife sticking in his arm. He pulled the knife and dropped his stars with Charles’ gun on the floor and he ran into the bedroom. Avery, after seeing him pull the knife from his arm and dropping the stars, could only think, crap. She immediately began to regret throwing the knife blindly and wished she had aimed at his face, possibly even his eye. She grabbed out the mallet next, trying to become creative and as soon as he came into the room, she flung the mallet. The guy raised his arms, blocking the metal mallet from hitting him in the face, only causing pain on his arms.
She grabbed out the fillet knife next and lashed out, cutting his arm once again. Trevor, not really ever fighting a girl before, went ahead and grabbed out his combat knife and used it to block the brunette’s moves. He didn’t want to injure her, he usually was the one to deal with the guys. The two began fighting, Trevor doing more blocks than attacking. That is until he began to notice she was starting to slow down suddenly.
Avery felt herself starting to feel weaker from lack of food and water in her system as of late. She felt worn out and with one final move, ran at Trevor and tried to shove him back so she could make a run out of the room. Instead, Trevor shoved her back and she fell on the soiled bed then they rolled off the other side, landing on a dead body. Both struggled to stand back up and when they did, Trevor finally grasped the fillet knife and twisted her wrist, the knife dropping on the carpeted floor and he dug in his pockets for the zip ties and placed them on her wrists.
No longer caring, Avery stopped struggling and almost fell over onto the soiled bed again, Trevor keeping a grip on her arms, they returned into the main room.
Charles slammed Alex against the window, his back shattering the glass and he sank down to the floor, his back aching so badly. Charles wiped the blood from his nose where Alex had hit him and he looked at Trevor,” zip tie him too.” Charles grabbed Avery’s arms while Trevor zip tied Alex’s wrists now and stood him up. Charles grabbed Alex and shoved Avery aside, Trevor once again grabbing her arms and they watched Charles hit Alex a few times in the face and then in the ribcage. He watched the young guy double over in pain and coughing. He picked up his gun while Trevor picked up his gun and stars.

"You know you're messing with the wrong group here,” Charles said to Alex then looked at Avery before they moved out of the building and went back down the stairs and out into the alley where they saw the two vehicles still awaiting their arrival. Charles threw Alex inside the truck while Avery was shoved into the back of the Dodge and both vehicles left.

An Excerpt From When The Dead Came

For those who haven't come across my book, for this post, I'm going to be sharing excerpts from the book as a way to let you see what it's about.

The corpse awakened instantly, springing with powerful energy as he grabbed onto Walt's left wrist, biting down into the screaming man's arm. Pherson jumped, turning his head to the right, not wanting to see the scene in front of him that's sure to make him incredibly sick to his stomach. As if an alarm was triggered, every nearby employee began running into rooms or straight to the horror scene unraveling. Down the hall, Pherson could see Luke Newhart, one of the men assigned to solve the more recent chemical equation. Pherson wasn't sure why Luke was hired however, he always looked disheveled and drank alcohol profusely while working. Instantly, Luke turned and ran, leaving Pherson to wonder where Luke intended to go and whether he should follow.

Through the night, Avery kept waking up, always hearing screams in the distance somewhere in the city. She heard the undead shrieking and glass breaking. She heard all kinds of sounds through the night, and couldn't go back to sleep. And each time she shut her eyes, she saw the guy outside of her class she had been in when it happened. She kept seeing the blood, his injuries, and that walk. Instead of sleeping, she laid there with her head against the window, and just stared out.

Holly rolled over from her left side to lying on her back, sleeping in silence. She flinched when she felt something wet drip on her forehead. When she felt more drops of the liquid land on her cheek and mouth, she rubbed her face then opened her eyes. In front of her stood a zombie, his hair missing on one side, torn out and his left eyeball hanging out of its socket. Holly screamed as the zombie bit down on her left face cheek, the skin tearing up, allowing blood to flow.

Will be sharing some from my next book of the series soon on the Facebook page, When The Dead Came for people to view and on here as well.

A Small Look At The Characters In The Series and What To Look Forward To In The Second Book Coming Soon

The thing I enjoy apparently, is letting others in on who the characters are and just allowing others to get to know the name of characters who are in the series. And that's what I'll be doing now. In the first book, if you already read it, has only eight main characters, plus a few with small parts: Avery, Justin, Alex, Keith, Holly, Jenny, Zackary, and Joel. Then there's the Boss, scientist mainly known as just Pherson, the group from Texas, the survivors in Kansas, John, and Katie.
Avery is the high school girl, friends with fellow high schoolers Holly and Keith, her two friends. Katie was also a friend as well, but doesn't make it past the first few pages of course, also John doesn't either. The Boss is who starts it all, and Pherson doesn't reappear until toward the ending.
Justin and Alex are brothers from Seattle, on their way to Lubbock by car. The two brothers form the group with Avery, Keith, and Holly then are joined with other high schoolers from Lubbock, Joel, Zackary, and Jenny.
I'm going to try not to reveal when these next characters make their appearances, but will let you in on what they do. Here's the list: Trevor, Evan, Drew, Charles, Nick, Will, Jeff, Lucinda, Laura, Seth, Jared, Jeremiah, Melinda, David, Miles, Elizabeth, Mitch, Kevin, Simon, Wyatt, Brandon, Ryan, Zach, Kyle, Sebastian, Paul, Molly, Francesca, Eduardo, Jesse, Barry, Walt, Joseph, Devon, Tom, Logan, Marlon, Zeke, Perry, Scott. And more to come.

The first eight names are all part of a group together. In my book series, eventually, you begin to learn and hear a lot about the SGs: Survivalist Groups. This particular group being known as the SGO (Survivalist Group of Ohio) while the bulk of the names in the rest of the list actually belong to the SGC (Survivalist Group of California) and are also some of my personal favorite characters of my series 'cause of how I created them out to be. True, I created characters that I like, and then there's some I'm not a fan of too.
Overtime you learn about each characters past and what they were doing when the zombie virus began. One character had been working as a Graphic Designer when they found out and witnessed the killings, in turn, he races to his parents home to check on them. They're not there, but his brother and sister are and he ends up killing them. You learn in the last few books that he carries that weight and regrets. There's the character who left a group because he didn't like how they did things. There's the woman with an attitude toward everyone and the character who disappears and is never heard about again. And the character who travels out to sea to begin their search for survivors in the other countries over seas.
In each series, the characters are actually traveling from state to state and meet new people and lose people ( an example of that is in the first book available through createspace and amazon). They gain friends, lost friends, and end up with enemies or develop hatred toward someone they once called a friend.

i'm going to be releasing my second book very soon, I just need to figure out a cover for it. So what can you look forward to in the second book? For one, it'll be longer than the first book for sure. But you'll get to meet the SGO for the first time and the chance to see the characters personalities and how they run their group. Keith changes for the worst, Holly begins to change for the best, Jenny still cries a lot. Avery begins changing as well for the worst mentally while Alex develops an attitude toward life that doesn't result in a good way at the ending. Plus characters die, including someone from the original group.
Hope you enjoy the book and I'll be letting you know when the next of the series will be out.

The Beginning...

Welcome, first of all, to my blog specifically for my book series, When The Dead Came. So far it has 7 or 8 books and thinking of continuing on with it until I kill off all the survivors. But likely won't stop there. If you're new to this, then you'll be one of the first to learn some interesting things about my book series that I haven't shared elsewhere yet. I began the series back in 2008 and haven't stopped writing since then. For the front cover of the first book, the background was Photoshopped in, I won't lie about that, but the hand on the front cover was actually my own that I had done makeup efx on back then. It's actually my first makeup work I ever attempted and how I did it was with limited supplies 'cause I didn't have the money to get the things that other people and professionals use. I ended up using squares of toilet paper, red lip gloss I didn't wear, foundation I didn't use, black ink pen, q-tips, makeup brushes that had came with a makeup set I had received for Christmas. With all that, the results looked pretty good for my first try:

Was quite happy for myself. Nothing actually gave me the idea to begin this series, by nothing, I mean no zombie films or books. It was just what came to mind one day and then I grabbed up a pencil, my notebook, and began writing from then on out. The book series follows a group of survivors who meet up over time, both good and bad people. And if I had to choose favorites, I'd say my favorite characters don't join the series until the 6th book. Don't know who your favorite (s) would be if you read the series. So far, only the first book is available online for a small price. It's available on Amazon for Kindle and available at CreateSpace.com as paperback.
